What is The Ignite Technology Transfer Office (Ignite TTO) Galway?
The Ignite Technology Transfer Office (Ignite TTO) explores and facilitates commercial opportunities for the research community at NUI Galway, and facilitates industry partnership. Their services assist in the knowledge transfer process for Industry and Investors as well as informing the Research Community at NUI Galway on matters of policy and process.
Ignite currently has 12 grantmaking clients, mostly located in Cincinnati, although some are in other states. On average, Ignite facilitates over $7 million annually in grants to non-profit organizations on behalf of the clients we serve. Many of our clients prefer to remain anonymous and rely on Ignite staff to source and research grant ideas.
The IGNITE programme will provide a long-term engagement, comprising:
- Training days of workshops at Cork International Film Festival in November 2021, and Docs Ireland in June 2022
- An out-of-festival training event in early Spring 2021
- The opportunity to attend a leading International Documentary Film Festival

• Commercialization (including setting up a company, hiring HR, Marketing and Sales, Licensing software and technologies, assisting trade shows, working capital, proof of concepts, etc.)
