What is the Accelerate Cheshire and Warrington (ACW) grant programme?
Accelerate Cheshire and Warrington is a £3.7M programme that has been designed to support businesses to reskill and upskill their current workforce. This programme is lead by the University of Chester and is partly funded by the European Social Fund. Through the Accelerate Cheshire and Warrington programme, people who live or work in Cheshire and Warrington can access funding to go towards the cost of training your business needs. There is a wide range of training on offer that can specifically help individual businesses needs and goals.
This is a fantastic opportunity for employees to become more resilient and competitive after a challenging year. There are currently over 100 courses available that would benefit each sector in Cheshire and Warrington.
Are you a business and want to secure training for your employees?
The ACW is a programme that has been created to specially support businesses to reskill and upskill their current workforce. Benefitting both individual employees and employers, over the last several months businesses across the region have signed up to the Accelerate programme, taking place across Cheshire College’s three Campuses, to take advantage of the opportunity to develop new technologies, increase productivity and remain competitive.
Funding can be accessed by businesses and their employees who live or work in Cheshire and Warrington to undertake training across a wide range of subjects.
- Businesses employing more than 50 staff can access 40% funding to go towards the cost of training through Accelerate to retrain and upskill their workforce.
- Employees of businesses with less than 50 people can access 100% funding towards the training available, which comprises of 40% funding from Accelerate and 60% from the LEP.
Partly funded by the European Social Fund, the programme focusses on re-skilling and upskilling individual staff in a range of key areas, from digital technology and IT for business to leadership and management and mental health.
As well as making short courses and key training available from a range of providers, funding is available for up to 40% of the cost for employees who live or work in Warrington and Cheshire, regardless of their size or sector.
