What is the Amber Grant Foundation?

The Amber Grant Foundation began in 1998, launched in conjunction with the entrepreneurial community for women. Amber Grants make it possible for other women to achieve the dreams that Amber never had a chance to pursue. There is no requirement or expectation to repay the funds. Women entrepreneur can apply at anytime by simply telling their story. No lengthy, complicated forms. At the end of each month, the judges will pick a $1,000 Amber Grant recipient. One of the 12 monthly winners will be awarded a $10,000 Amber Grant at the end of the year.

If you’re looking for the most straightforward and simple application process, look no further than the Amber Grant, offered monthly by WomensNet. WomensNet is a powerful resource in its own right, as it’s a female-run collective of online resources for women business owners. The application is simpler than for most similar opportunities. You tell the organization about your business and what you’d do with the money and pay a $15 application fee.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Businesses operating in the US and Canada are eligible for the Amber Grant.
  • Applicant must be 18 years or older to apply.

The three-woman WomensNet Advisory Board selects a monthly winner from among applicants and announces grant winners about a week into the following month.

Judging criteria are vague, but they note that they look for “passion, business savvy, vision, and so much more.” Fill your application with details to get the judges excited about supporting your business.
