What is the Business Growth Programme 2 Solihull?

The new £23.5 million Business Growth Programme 2 (BGP2) has launched and the first funding round is open for applications. BGP2 offers grants of £2,500 – £1,000,000 and is designed to strengthen supply chains, stimulate innovation and help businesses grow.

Business Growth Programme 2 Solihull

Small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are being invited to apply for funding that is available to invest in businesses across the Greater Birmingham and Solihull and The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership areas, which includes Lichfield District. The Business Growth Programme 2 Solihull is a £23.5 million business support package, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Birmingham City Council. Part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, BGP2 offers grants of £2,500 – £1,000,000 and is designed to strengthen supply chains, stimulate innovation and help businesses grow. 

The programme is available to:

  • Start-Up B2B*
  • Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) moving into or located in The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (TMLEP) area only  and
  • Existing B2B*
  • SMEs moving into or located in The Greater Birmingham and Solihull (GBSLEP) and The Marches (TMLEP) areas, seeking grants of £10,000 – £1,000,000.

The package of support is designed to strengthen supply chains, stimulate innovation and grow existing Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) across the Greater Birmingham and Solihull, Stoke and Staffordshire and The Marches Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs).

The assistance from BGP2 is in the form of a grant contribution of between £10k – £1m for existing businesses (more than 6 months trading) for:

  • innovative production processes,
  • relocation and growth of SME’s: 
  • capital equipment,
  • relocation and expansion,
  • improvement of production processes and systems,
  • new product development,
  • marketing costs,
  • Building Information Modelling (BIM),
  • development of new markets.
