What is the Caerphilly Enterprise Fund?

The Caerphilly enterprise fund can support new and established businesses and community enterprises throughout the County Borough. The grants, of up to £200, can be used for equipment required to operate safely, while social-distancing requirements exist.

This includes:

  • Protective screens
  • Hand-sanitiser dispensers
  • Social-distancing signage
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as gloves and masks.

Businesses who apply must operate in Caerphilly county borough and employ nine people or less. They must operate in the retail or service sector, offering goods or services to visiting members of the public.

Who can apply?

Sole traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies, Limited Liability Partnerships and Community Groups are all eligible to apply for grant assistance. It is aimed at small and medium sized enterprises with less than 250 employees.   Start-ups can also apply.

Eligible project costs can include:

  • Websites and e-commerce sites 
  • Feasibility studies 
  • Business planning 
  • One off marketing costs 
  • Capital equipment
  • IT hardware and software
  • property and infrastructure improvements to commercial, industrial and retail premises

How To Apply

Support may be accessed at any time while funding remains available. Start-up businesses will need to submit a business plan and application form. Existing businesses will also need to submit trading accounts. Applicants should contact the Business Enterprise Support Team at Caerphilly Council for further information on eligibility criteria and application details.

The fund can provide:

  • Revenue costs – the maximum grant is £2,000 at an intervention rate of 45%.
  • Capital costs for property enhancement can include external and internal works for business premises. The maximum grant is £10,000 at an intervention rate of 50%.
