What is the Digital High Street Fund Elmbridge?

The Elmbridge Borough Council Digital High Street Fund (EDHSF) has been set up to help local businesses in Elmbridge create a new or upgrade their existing website to an e-commerce websites. The EDHSF offers grants to help independent high street retailers with establishment or an upgrade.

Digital High Street Fund Elmbridge

You can apply for a grant of up to 50% of the eligible costs, up to a maximum of £1,500. The funding is available to independent high street retailers located within the defined primary or secondary frontage of our town centres and high streets. Special consideration can also be given to ‘in town’ applications from independent retailers with shop frontage not in Primary or Secondary locations. This will be at the discretion of the board. To be in receipt of the grant you must get three detailed quotes from suppliers.

Who Can Apply?

The scheme is open to independent retail businesses based in the defined primary or secondary frontage of Elmbridge’s town centres and high streets.

Businesses providing professional services, such as accountancy, are ineligible.

Applicants must also have been trading for at least one year.

Projects That Are Ineligible?

The following projects are ineligible:

  • Websites which will not have e-commerce functionality.
  • Hardware e.g. computers.
  • Services e.g. digital coaching/consultancy.
  • Maintenance of existing digital technology.
  • Domain name.

Social Distancing

£250 grants are also available to support independent high street retailers to adapt and implement social distancing measures such as customer notices, floor markings, and plastic screens at tills.
