What is the Origin8 from NCAD?
At Origin8, our experienced staff help guide clients and design residents through the various options available for their research requirements. Our highly skilled designers have extensive experience of successfully delivering projects for a range of clients. Our primary objective is to focus on innovation and creativity, and to develop the key intellectual capital necessary to transform ideas into new technology, products and services.
With Origin8, NCAD is aligning our organisational culture with the Government’s aim of making it easier for businesses to access expertise in higher education, as in Knowledge Transfer Ireland. Our primary objective is to focus on innovation and creativity, and to develop the key intellectual capital necessary to transform ideas into new technology, products and services. Since 2013, NCAD Origin8 has been managing an average of 50-60 innovation and engagement client research projects per year. Clients include sme’s and multi-nationals in a range of sectors. The majority of partnership work is in the med-tech and manufacturing sectors. NCAD also provides specialist design expertise and services for other research centres. This work includes product/service development, prototyping, brand identity, marketing, and data visualisation.
Eligibility
The programme is open to graduates with an honours degree award of 2.2 or higher, or an equivalent academic or professional qualification in a related discipline. The College also takes into consideration prior learning and experience. English language: Students who have not been educated through English must show proof of achieving IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6 in the writing section on the Academic Version) or an equivalent score in another recognised English language assessment.
