The DE-Carbonise Project

What is the The DE-Carbonise Project?

The DE-Carbonise project helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire increase their sustainability and save money by reducing energy costs and carbon emissions. The collaboration is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and follows on from the successful D2 Energy Efficiency/Low Carbon project. Grants between £1,000 and £20,000 are available in Derby. The grant covers 40% of the total cost of works (ex VAT), depending on the carbon saving.

The DE-Carbonise Project

This support usually includes:

  • An initial scoping phone call with your lead contact
  • A business visit, followed by a carbon reduction audit and report
  • Technical support, consultancy and process improvements based on recommendations from the carbon reduction report
  • Cohort-based learning and development for smart manufacturing and sustainable supply chain innovation
  • Grant funding to implement carbon reduction recommendations.

The Programme has three strands. SMEs can access grants to support energy and resource efficiency measures, low carbon product development consultancy and support to decarbonise operations and supply chains in order to improve environmental performance and grow the low carbon economy.

The DE-Carbonise project aims to help small and medium sized-businesses (SMEs) based in Derby and Derbyshire to:

  1. Reduce carbon emissions
  2. Save costs
  3. Become more sustainable.

The project also provides advice and support to enable businesses to:

  • Develop and implement lower carbon business processes
  • Use renewable energy generating technologies
  • Develop lower carbon products
