What is the Workforce Upskilling Grant?

The workforce upskilling grant is a non-repayable grant of up to a maximum of £2,000, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and administered by Business Gateway Fife, for Fife companies looking to improve the productivity and profitability of their business through staff training.

What can the Grant be used for?

Businesses can use the Grant towards staff training to develop their workforce in various areas such as:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Lean/Six Sigma
  • Cyber Security
  • Using Hybrid/Virtual Reality in the Workplace
  • Leadership
  • Project Management
  • Computer Aided Draughting and Design

The trade development funding provides grants to:

  • assist businesses with the cost of exhibiting at trade shows within the UK or Europe
  • assist businesses with the cost of participating in overseas trade missions.
  • support other costs associated with accessing new markets, such as exporting

The grant  can be a 100% contribution so if the total cost of the training is £2k or less we’ll cover the full amount. Funding for training can be availed of through candidates’ local enterprise partnerships and through a range of support which are developed through schools and colleges’ careers services to educate school leavers and those in education that they may be applicable for places in this training
